Making Her Mark with Renovating For Profit
For two decades, Cherie Barber has been wowing clients with her stunning interior transformations and training the next generation of renovation professionals. Having personally renovated more than 150 properties and taught more than 20,000 students, you would be hard-pressed to find a more experienced renovation specialist than Cherie.
It makes sense, then, that she decided to start Renovating for Profit to meet a growing appetite for renovation and property investment education around Australia.
Maximising The Appeal of Channel 25
As one of the country’s biggest names in property design and renovations, you can trust that if Cherie chooses a product for one of her projects, it’s only because it meets her rigorous standards. Easycraft were excited to collaborate with Cherie on her master bedroom makeover. You can watch Cherie in action in episode one of her latest web series, Renovate My Room.
With three stunning profiles to choose from, Cherie settled on Channel 25. Ideal as a general purpose interior wall and ceiling panel, the Channel is a moisture-resistant MDF substrate, and comes pre-primed and ready to install. Perfect for a busy renovator like Cherie! Its unique design is also eye-catching enough to attract attention no matter where you are in a space – so Cherie decided to hero its design attributes and install it purely as a feature wall.
As Cherie puts it: “Who wants a boring bedroom? Not us, we all say! Bedrooms are everyone’s own personal space and the one room in your home where you can inject real personality.”
What Cherie Loves About Easycraft Panels
During this renovation, Cherie had to contend with “1980s chic apricot and sage-green walls” as well as a band of frilly wallpaper frieze. While a complete demo might be appealing for some renovators, Cherie wanted to keep the homeowner happy by ensuring some of the features of the original bedroom were incorporated in the final product.
With the Silhouette Channel profile, she was able to make sure the highlight of the renovated bedroom – the feature wall – would always draw the eye.
“To make this somewhat sterile room look far more interesting I opted for a relatively new product from Easycraft called the Channel 25 panel,” she explains in her blog. “It comes pre-primed (undercoated) in a range of sheet lengths to suit almost any room.”
One of the biggest attractions for using Easycraft products is its durability and simplicity to install. So Cherie was excited that the Channel profile would save her time while still giving her exactly what she wanted in a feature wall.
“If you’re handy, it’s a very easy product to install,” she says. “If you’re not, a good carpenter can do a whole wall in about two hours typically.”
